A finger in every pie?

Ever wonder how much trade really goes through Europe?  Here’s the answer: A LOT!

According to a 2012 report from the World Bank, almost half (45%) of global trade begins or ends in Europe.  On one hand, I wonder whether this is still true a few years into the euro crisis, as we might expect to see those trade numbers drop.  On the other hand, I also wonder whether this includes all shipping of goods, because a fair amount of goods that travel through Europe don’t begin or end there!
