N. Ireland’s very polite (but grammatically inefficient) street signs

Here are a few street signs I’ve seen in Northern Ireland the last few days, along with their American English translations.

“No drinking.”  I’ve seen this a lot more in Ireland than in the US.

“Yield.”

2 for 1: “Pick up after your dog” + “Dogs must be kept on leash.”  I’ve also seen “Leash pets and obey poop laws” in the US, if you want to be super efficient.

Another 2 for 1: “No Drinking” + “No Littering”

Of course, the US does not always have the most efficient signs…

I think this sign wins for efficiency.  The US translation: “No littering” + “Pick up after pet”
